On Oct. 23, TV By The Numbers revealed that new performers have been added to the star-studded line-up for the 2013 MTV EMAs. The recently expanded list now includes Imagine Dragons and Robin Thicke, who caused quite a stir with Miley Cyrus at the 2013 MTV VMAs. "I am grateful and excited to be nominated and performing at this year's EMAs. I know it will be an amazing night!" Thicke told the Hollywood Reporter. Imagine Dragons added, “We feel really lucky to be able to attend the EMAs in one of our all-time favorite cities in the world. To be nominated and performing on top of that is a serious honor.” It will be the first MTV EMA appearance for both Imagine Dragons and Robin Thicke.
This year’s MTV EMAs is sure to be a huge TV event, especially since the line-up keeps getting hotter and hotter. Legendary Snoop Dog, world famous DJ/producer Afrojack were also added and join previously announced performers Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and The Killers. Redfoo from LMFAO will MC the annual awards fest. Confirmed resenters include Will Ferrell, Iggy Azalea, Ellie Goulding, Carice van Houten from “Game of Thrones” and Colton Haynes from “Teen Wolf."
Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the “2013 MTV EMA” nominations with five nods each, while Thicke, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus are each up for four awards. Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Green Day, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Daft Punk, Rudimental, Icona Pop and One Direction are each nominated for three awards.
The 2013 European Music Awards will air live from Amsterdam across MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels reaching nearly 700 million households around the world. Bruce Gillmer and Richard Godfrey will serve as executive producers.
The 2013 MTV EMAs will air in the U.S. at 7 p.m. EST and PST on Sunday, Nov. 10 on MTV.
In 2012, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber dominated the MTV EMAs with three wins each. Carly Rae Jepsen, No Doubt, Psy and Pitbull also won EMA awards last year. To learn more about the 2013 MTV EMA nominees, be sure to watch the video above and to the left.
