Imagine a party with dozens of Dachshunds?

When my friend Patricia and I are walking our Dachshunds together, people are always loving the four (sometimes five) wiener dogs running around playing together. We have a red, black, gray and mixed among the (Seal, is actually bluish color and people love that!)

Children run up to play, big dogs want to sniff. It's like we brought a bunch of toys to the park!

Those of us who have them know how contagious having a Dachshund is, but even if you don't have one, you can gather together with one of the longest-running, largest groups of Doxie owners that get together on a regular basis. Every month the L.A. Doxies group gathers.

Imagine nearly 100 Dachshunds running together at the Balboa Dog Park in the San Fernando Valley last month (see the photos and the video!) Especially with kids, it's a mountain of fun. (See the "I ordered 200 Oxen" commercial that is one of my favorites of many Doxies together.

The latest meet-up is Sunday March 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. it's at the Alice Frost Kennedy Dog Park at 2036 East Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena, Calif. 91107. All are welcome!

See the photos and the gallery. Also, check out the D.O.G.S. charity that L.A. Doxie Meet-up founder Johnny Ortez-Tibbels has created specifically to help Dachshunds. (See also: www.facebook.com/DOGSnonprofit)
