Whether you love it or loathe it, the next fight for Mexican superstar and WBA junior middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez looks to be a high-profile showdown with former five-time champion Shane Mosley this coming May 5th undercard the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Miguel Cotto super fight.
Possessing a 39-0-1 record with 29 kills and his notoriety building by the minute, Alvarez is a heavy favorite against Mosley, who has yet to secure a victory since his January 2009 drubbing of Antonio Margarito.
Upon hearing the news of his most recent assignment, Alvarez appears to be wasting little time, as he instantly hit the gym in Guadalajara, Mexico to begin preparation for the contest despite the fight being nearly three months away.
It is this kind of preparation and respect towards his opponent that will play a part in Alvarez’s future progression.
