The Plano Police Department has confirmed that a 21-year-old man went missing from Illinois on Feb. 22 and has not been seen since.
Corey Cann was last seen at his home in the 500 block of South Hale Street in Plano around 7 p.m., Friday. Corey told his family that he was expecting some friends to show up at the family home. Corey went outside to talk to them and then disappeared. When the family went looking for Corey they saw he was gone and now believe he has been kidnapped.
The family states they did not know the people that showed up at the door, reports the Patch.
"Right now we are flooding social media every way we can," Roxanne Cann, Corey's mother posted on Facebook. We have no idea where to look anymore. We have no information."
Corey who has cerebral palsy was not dressed for the winter weather and only had sweat pants and a t-shirt on and left with no coat.
One witness reported seeing Corey in his wheelchair in the bed of a light tan pickup truck. Another witness saw a truck running a stop sign moments after leaving Corey's house and heading to RT-34.
"We would like to ask those of you who want to help to please go to the gathering at the Yorkville CCC location on Commercial drive," said Beth Kolar, who is in charge of the Find Corey Cann Facebook page. "The more feet we have on the ground, looking, the better."
Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Cann, or has seen him in the last 24 hours is urged to call the Plano Police Department at 630-552-3121.
