Highly touted forward in the 2014 recruiting class Leron Black (Memphis, Tenn./White Station) committed to play for coach John Groce and the Illinois Fighting Illini. According to ESPN Chicago's report the power forward was comfortable with the staff and that ultimately lead to his decision.
"I felt comfortable with the coaching staff and felt this was the best place for me to grow and develop as a player, person and spiritually," Black said.
Black is rated No. 36 in the ESPN top 100 and is a four star recruit. He is rated No. 22 by Rivals.com.
Black will give the Fighting Illini a much needed boost in the front court. He has been described as physical and has a high motor.
The Illinois Fighting Illini looks like they can be serious national championship contenders in the near future. They add yet another highly touted prospect to their team. Black could add some serious firepower in the Illini front-court for some years to come.
