Illinois eliminated from Big Ten Tournament by Indiana, 80-64

Yesterday the Illinois Fighting Illini (22-12) was handily defeated by the Indiana Hoosiers (27-5) in Chicago to eliminate them from the Big Ten tournament.

Brandon Paul really struggled shooting the ball for the Illini and was out of rhythm early with two quick fouls against him. Paul however was aggressive enough to get to the free throw line 12 times. He ended the game with 16 points.

Tracy Abrams also had 16 points for the Illini.

Indiana controlled the pace for much of the game and really dominated the game from start to finish. They held the advantage in rebounds33-20 over the Illini. They also held the advantage in assists 16-6.

Hoosier stars Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo gave the Illini fits and was a huge part of Indiana's revenge win. Zeller ended the game with 24 points and nine rebounds. Oladipo had 12 points, 11 rebounds, and an exciting 360 dunk.

Now that the Illini are out of the Big Ten tournament they must play the waiting game and see where the tournament committee will place them in the NCAA tournament.
