In 2005, a national survey was conducted to determine the number of homeless Americans. The study found there were approximately 744,000 homeless people in the U.S., since then, rising unemployment and record foreclosures have sent even more Americans into the streets.
In 2008, the U.S. Conference of Mayors reported a 12 percent increase from the previous year, in homelessness in 19 out of 25 major U.S. cities.
Of course, with more families becoming homeless, we are seeing more children living on the streets than we have since the Great Depression. A 2009 study from the National Center on Family Homelessness reported that 1.5 million children become homeless every year in the U.S.
The study listed Texas as having the highest rate of childhood homelessness in the nation. A border state, Texas has also been inundated with illegal aliens. Georgia, Arkansas, and Mew Mexico had the next highest rates, respectively (All of which have recently experienced massive growth in their illegal alien populations.).
When the number of Americans who have fallen off of the unemployment rolls (because their benefits have run out, or they simply tired of looking for work) is added to the number of Americans currently receiving an unemployment check…you arrive at an actual unemployment figure of 16.9 percent.
A recent study conducted by the Chicago Urban League and the Alternative Schools Network showed the tremendous impact illegal aliens are having on the employment levels of low-skilled American workers, particularly for young workers.
The study revealed a rather shocking revelation, in that, the unemployment rate among teens and young adults is soaring to unprecedented level, while millions of illegal aliens continue to hold jobs.
Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) and Rep. Gary Miller (R-CA) released the following joint statement on the study’s findings:
“During the course of the 2007-2009 recession, the employment rate of the nation’s teens fell steeply to 26.2% by October-November 2009, setting new record lows each year. No other age group has experienced employment declines of this magnitude in the current recession. Young adults 20-24 years old in both Illinois and the nation also have been adversely affected by the deterioration in labor market developments in the state and nation in recent years, especially men, Blacks and Hispanics, and non-college graduates.”
Rep. Smith went on to say: “The fact is that illegal immigrants take jobs from American workers, particularly poor and disadvantaged citizens and legal immigrants. The best outcome for low-skilled citizen and legal immigrant workers is the removal of the illegal immigrant population. The very jobs that illegal immigrants occupy rightfully belong to out of work citizens and legal immigrants.”
“At home in California, almost weekly I hear from my constituents that illegal immigration is exacerbating the unemployment crisis.”
In 1931, the second full year of the Great Depression, the average rate of unemployment was 16.3 percent, with U.S. unemployment peaking at 25 percent in 1933. We now sit in between those two disastrous figures, with an ever-worsening economy.
With U.S. unemployment now at depression levels, and scores of homeless children live under bridges and tent cities, we simply can no longer tolerate an illegal alien population numbering in the tens of millions.
American workers do not need handouts, they simply need jobs, and those jobs will not be forthcoming as long as illegal aliens are doing them.
We must demand that the federal government order the immediate removal of all illegal aliens, place our military along the Mexican border, vastly increase interior enforcement, and enact mandatory prison sentences for those who hire illegal aliens.
Illegal immigration is no longer a political issue, but one that is destroying our economy and sending Americans onto the streets. It is simply immoral to allow anyone in this country illegally to have a job, while millions of Americans go without one and live in poverty.

Hello Which One?,
My dear fellow, the two statements are not mutually exclusive: both can be, and probably are, true.
Just because you have 44k non-ag jobs being created, does not negate the premise that a huge number of 'children' go homeless in the same state: particularly a state the size of Texas, which was once it's own bona fide Country!
Take a look for a just a moment, at the population numbers for Texas from the last census, then look at projected numbers for current populations.
44k new non-ag jobs is a move in the right direction, but the bottom line is that they are a drop in the bucket considering the overall situation in Texas.
Texas needs to be able to create 440k jobs and as Dave has clearly shown, were Illegal Aliens NOT in Texas stealing non-ag jobs from Americans, Texans could well reach that 440k goal!
Wake up and smell the cordite jocko, because if the Fed. Govt. doesn't seal the borders, Americans are going to seal it themselves.
Cheers.
The most informative video I have ever seen draws such a dramatic picture (with documented stats) there is no room for doubt concerning the perilous situation illegal immigration is placing our nation in.

Send them back to their home countries. Then point them towards the immigration office to enter legally, so they can get an education, speak the language and contribute to society and not be a burden. No reason to hate, but every reason to make them do it right.
Sur de la frontera says:
Porqué está cada uno cosecha en mí??? Vengo a América para el dinero libre de Obama!
When Babelfish goes wrong. First, babelfish translated for you the word "eveyone" to "each one". Second, no hispanic outside America calls it "America". AMERICAS, remember? Central and South AMERICA? Member? You member! In their respective countries, they ARE in "America(s)". Third, the frontera is actually far south, not next to the border. "Frontera is actually the wide strip (on both sides) and encompasses the cities on both sides. So south of that wide strip would be at least 50 miles below the border and not ON the border.
It was a cute try, though.
Excellent subject, Dave!
You are exactly right. I also think the time for a giant Patriot march like the Tea Party March last September 12th has come. It's time to get in their faces. BTW, what happened to all the massive illegal alien marches the left was going to organize this summer? Are they afraid of hurting their chances for Amnesty by marching with Buzzard Rags?
Deport all illegal aliens. I am tired of the Obama administration. Now Obama's DOJ is suing AZ for SB 1070. The Feds do nothing to protect our border and they file suit against SB 1070. Let's remove from office all the Democrats in November and in 2012 let's elect a new president because Obama and Holder are working for illegals. They do not work for Americans. I am tired of Obama and his friends. It is time TO DEPORT ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS NOW.
Dave, are either of your parents Oompa Loompas? I'm looking at your picture and damn if you don't look Oompa Loompian.
If there weren't so many illegal aliens taking jobs away from Americans and legal residents, there wouldn't be so many HOMELESS AMERICANS!!! I feel sorry for anybody that's homeless, but we must stop looking the other way -- the illegals are the uninvited "guest" who crashes your house and refuses to leave! DEPORT THEM ALL!!
Dave, this is great information.. believe me, I support securing borders, and NO blanket amnesty of any kind whatsoever- American workers first. I get your points, and we're on the same page. Reading your piece though, I was hoping for some links/backup. I know your statements are true and in some cases the acts may be even worse- but more backup resources would be helpful.. Thanks.. -steve
