On Wednesday, Jiu Jian Zheng, 43, pleaded guilty in Morris County Superior Court to aggravated manslaughter as well as aggravated assault.
The illegal alien killed his wife, 34-year-old Yun Fei Lin, last year.
On Oct. 5, 2012, Zheng entered Kazumi Sushi in Lake Hiawatha, NJ, the restaurant owned by his wife and stabbed her several times, leaving her to bleed to death, according to police.
The restaurant's co-owner, Ren Lin, locked himself is a storage room and called 911, while the grisly attack took place.
Zheng was taken into custody at the scene.
His defense attorney, Jessica Moses, claims that Zheng believed his wife was involved with another man.

Morris County Deputy Medical Examiner Dr. Carlos Fonseca later determined that Lin's cause of a death was acute blood loss due to multiple stab wounds, authorities said.
Hours later, the kitchen floor of the restaurant was still covered in blood and splatters of what appeared to be blood were visible on the kitchen door leading into the dining area and on the front door.
In exchange for his guilty plea, all other charges against Zheng were dropped. He was originally charged with first-degree murder, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Morris County Assistant Prosecutor Julie Serfess has asked that Zheng be sentenced to 20 years in state prison.
Zheng who speaks only Mandarin Chinese, told Judge Stuart Minkowitz through an interpreter: "I plead guilty now."
Zheng's next court date is scheduled for Nov. 22.
