On March 8, Nacogdoches County sheriff's deputies arrested Juan Arenas Delacruz, 27, after he reportedly abducted a teenager and raped her.
A week prior to his arrest, an Amber Alert was issued for the 15-year-old girl.
She was eventually found in a Lubbock motel room.
The alert was issued after talking with family members and friends, who believed the suspect took the juvenile against her own free will and left in a car. Investigators also learned the juvenile had made mention she was afraid of the suspect and what he would do to her.
Detectives were able to locate Delacruz by tracking his cellphone. He was taken into custody while working on a construction site.
Delacruz has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, enticing a child and sexual assault of a child. He is currently being held at the Nacogdoches County Jail on an ICE detainer.
Delacruz has admitted to sexually assaulting the girl and additional charges are pending, according to detectives.
