iHomeEducator has released a new educational app for Kindergarten to 6th grade. iLiveMath Speed is packed with multimedia photos, videos, sounds and games to engage students in understanding addition, subtraction, rate, distance, time and more.
The app, which works with iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone, uses rockets, sailboats, race cars, jets and more to teach math, reading, and science. The basic to advanced mathematics covered include addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Reading comprehension and science concepts include mph, km/h, knots, Mach, speed of sound, Supersonic, Hypersonic, just to name a few.
The vivid color photos and graphics used for each question are stunning, just as they are with iHomeEducator's other apps. The close, fascinating pictures of rockets blasting off, space shuttles docking and trains, boats and jets in action are sure to engage children. Kids with a fascination with these subjects will be especially captivated.
Just like the previous iLiveMath apps, students and teachers can collaborate on word math problems using Twitter, email, and blogs. Questions are asked and the student selects the answer from a picker dial. The student is then provided immediate correct or incorrect feedback.
The app can be downloaded from iTunes for $2.99.
One reader will win a free download of iLiveMath Speed. To enter, leave a comment about your favorite educational app (or one you'd love to see) along with your email address. I'll draw a random number entry on Monday, July 12, and will email the winner.
