With successful ventures in Martha’s Vineyard and Florida their New York namesake has already become a neighborhood hot spot. Chef Black's spin on taking old favorites with a modern day twist is making the restaurant a popular Upper East Side addition.

Featuring a rustic yet warm atmosphere guests will enjoy a timeless elegance composed with a contemporary style. Diners will notice the eatery’s attention to detail with red and gold menus, marble columns and old-iron gates housing the wine cellar. Start the service with a glass of wine from their extensive list while ordering appetizers.

For a hot appetizer sample one of the Antipasto Caldo. Popular selections include the Scallops Antica and Lobster Agrodolce. The seared scallops are finished in a blood orange balsamic reduction served over grilled oranges, radicchio and endive while the Sicilian rosemary sweet and sour lobster tail is plated with a tomato salad. A glass or bottle of Cortese di Gavi pairs perfectly with the first course.

Moving through the menu it’s time for the signature entrees. The Duck Braciole is a stuffed duck breast with spinach and Scamorza cheese in a Barolo wine and wild mushroom sauce served over a creamy risotto confit. A second selection is the Braised Short Ribs with fresh gnocchi in a light caramelized leek sauce. A Veneto Palazzo della Torre complements the main course.

Guests who have the good fortune of having Ian Kostrzewsky as their server are in for a real treat as his welcoming demeanor and culinary knowledge creates an enjoyable evening. Put yourself in his capable hands and he will deliver a delicious dining experience.

Save room for Chef Black’s indulgent desserts as the White Chocolate Cream Brulee or the moist Tiramisu provides a decadent ending.

Diners seeking a unique spot to celebrate a birthday or special occasion the restaurant’s downstairs party room comfortable seats thirty-five and can host private parties. Whether it's time for a party, an intimate night or dinner out with friends IL Tesoro is serving guests a good time.
