IL-76 aircraft, a Chinese piloted aircraft, has reportedly spotted debris that it believes is likely from the missing Malaysia Airlines aircraft. However, the IL-76’s discovery has not been spotted by a US P-8 Poseidon flying over the location given by the Chinese IL-76 aircraft, according to multiple reports including a report by the Christian Science Monitor and Reuters on Monday.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 ended in Indian Ocean

The Chinese claim to have seen two large pieces of debris and other smaller parts in the waters.

The IL-76 is officially called the Ilyushin. It is a huge Russian-made, 4-engine multipurpose plane.

This report came on Monday as Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announced that the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 crashed several thousands of miles from Perth, Australia in the south Indian Ocean. The statement came after data was revealed, showing that the path of the flight that has been missing for two weeks went there.
