iHeartRadio will hold its first-ever iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2014. On February 26, Clear Channel announced via iHeartRadio.com that they would be throwing their hat into the awards show ring with an all-star lineup of performers and awards in 13 categories.

The awards categories will include Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Country Song of the Year, EDM Song of the Year, Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year, Alt Rock Song of the Year, Best Lyrics, Best Collaboration, Best Lyrics, Best Fan Army and more.

The initial nominee list will contain 10 potential winners and those will be narrowed down by fan votes. After a four-week voting period, votes will be tabulated and the finalists put back into another round of voting. The finalists will be announced on March 26 and the winners announced during the live broadcast on May 1.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards will debut on NBC and will also broadcast and stream live on iHeartRadio and on Clear Channel’s participating radio stations and their sites.

Clear Channel looks to be expanding the reach of iHeartRadio. Earlier this year, the parent company announced its first-ever iHeartRadio Country Music Festival.
