IHA defeated Ridgefield Park 52-44 in the Semfinal Round of the Bergen County Tournament. IHA will take on Northern Highlands tomorrow in the championship.
At the end of the first quarter IHA led 9-8. IHA's Caitlin Roche could not miss from the field. She finished with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 blocked shot. Samantha Wilkes also had 16 points and was a great floor leader. She also had 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, and 2 blocked shots.
At the half-time IHA led 25-18. Ridgefield Park's Katherine Haines did a great job scoring from both inside and out. She ended with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, and 2 steals.
At the end of the third quarter IHA led 37-32. Ridgefield Park started making their comeback in the fourth quarter. With 2:40 left in the game Hines hit a three-pointer that shortened the IHA lead by 4 points, 44-40. Ridgefield Park then fouled Taylor Anderson who went to the foul line and hit one, 45-40. Katherine Haines responded by scoring a lay-up, 45-42. At 1:07 IHA's Samantha Wilkes then stole the ball. Ridgefield Park then had to foul to stop the clock and IHA was successful from the foul line.
Ridgefield Park, seeded 12th, had a great run in this tournament.
