According to the New England Sports Network, Canadian Olympic gold medalist Jarome Iginla of the Boston Bruins has been named the National Hockey League's third star of the week.

A native of Edmonton, Iginla won a gold medal with Canada in men's hockey at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

In four games this week, Iginla had five goals as the Bruins went 4-0 in that span and outscored their opponents 14-5. The Bruins are so hot at the moment, they lead the National Hockey League with 103 points and have won 12 straight games.

Iginla meanwhile leads Boston with 28 goals and seven game winning goals.

Gustav Nyquist of the Detroit Red Wings was the NHL's first star and Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers' was the NHL's second star.

Iginla will try to continue his hot goal scoring tonight when the Bruins host the Montreal Canadiens in an Atlantic Division encounter.
