IGIGI gets reviewed

Photo taken by Marie Jenkins

I bet you are wondering about IGIGI. Is their clothing really as beautiful as it looks on the site? Is it worth the money paid? Will the clothing last or will it pull out of shape? Will the beautiful look last from morning to evening? How is the quality?

I can answer all those questions and more, first hand. IGIGI gave me the opportunity wear one of their outfits and write my thoughts. I agreed. I had many question about their clothing since they introduced themselves to me a month or so ago.

IGIGI sent me the Belinda Jacket and the Noli Pants. The photo taken to the right is the photo after a full day wearing this outfit. I want you to know that any photo can not give you the full beauty of this outfit. Even the photos on IGIGI done by a professional still do not do this outfit justice. (Yes, I never look good in any photos.)

Belinda Jacket - The color is a deep rose, not pink as all the photos will have you believe. The material is not shiny either. It is incredible. The pleats around the cowl-like neck are not large or deep, they are small. They are placed to give it that 'special edge' and simple decorative touch. The jacket/top is a wrap-around with plenty of length. I never felt 'tied' together. I am a size 18 and my mother is a size 20-22. She was able to put this top on and able to tie it as well. If she were to purchase this top, my suggestion would be to purchase the next larger size for her. My shape is an hour-glass, her's is an apple. None-the-less, the top still looked gorgeous on her.

The material is cotton/elastane and you need to dry clean this one. This fabric will stretch with you, but will not leave the garment stretched out at all. It smooths back into place and never seems baggy at the end of the day. This picture was taken around 5:00 PM. The wrinkles were minimum to the top. This intrigued me. Many of my outfits from sitting and driving become extremely wrinkled and a few look like I slept in them by the evening. This did not. I was very impressed.

The jacket's length from the shoulder to the hem is about 27", the sleeves are of 3/4 length. There is no tight cuff to the sleeves, but bell out a bit with small pleats just like the collar. Having the sleeves like this gives the jacket the last bit of 'something' to carry the whole piece off.  I can tell you that you do not feel like you are wearing this jacket it is so lightweight. I was very comfortable in it and never felt 'dressed up'. The Belinda Jacket's price tag is $78.00 and well worth every penny.

The Noli Pant, is very comfortable. I was a bit nervous. When I took the pants out of the box, I realized that they sent me a size 16 not 18. They were right with the size. The 18's would have been really too big. The 16 fit beautifully. The leg is straight with a boot cut. They were not too long and danced around my 2' heel without sliding under the heel as I walked. They were more comfortable than my well worn jeans. I decided to really put these pants to the test. Many of my dress pants after a long day of sitting, bending and driving get either stretched out or leave me with knee impressions. Neither happened here. The material came back to life all day long. The button and metal hooks at the waist never bunched, the waist band never cinched my waist or curled. The waist band stood up to all my bending and stretching. The pants looked just as they did right off the hanger. The ironed creased stayed all day long. I loved the front pockets, they never came inside out when ever I put my hands in them.

The color of these pants are black. The material is cotton/elastane also. I would recommend dry cleaning even though the care label states you can machine wash cold and lie flat to dry. Oh, I really have to tell you that they put a metal zipper in the fly of the pants. This is one thing that really irritates me - plastic zippers. The pants never felt like I was poured into them. This pair of pants -Noli Pants - is $72.00.

One thing that really impressed me is that the outfit felt like it was 'made just for me'.  All of IGIGI's outfits are made in San Fransisco, USA and never shipped from out of the USA. The total price of the outfit, not including the shipping, is $150.00 and well worth every penny. I give IGIGI a '10' for the Belinda Jacket and the Noli Pants.
