IFWTWA invites non-members to attend its 2013 Hawaii conference (Photos)

The International Food Wine & Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA) has for the first time decided to invite non-members to attend its 2013 conference by joining the association with a special membership.

This should be a wonderful opportunity for food, wine and travel writers and others in lifestyle and hospitality media.

The IFWTWA is a dynamic nonprofit organization based out of Southern California. The organization started out as a small group of prominent French writers rating restaurants in 1956. It is now a global network of journalists who cover the hospitality and lifestyle fields, and the people who promote them. Members cover a broad spectrum of travel destination attractions such as active and passive adventure activities, ecology, historical features, culture, fairs, festivals, food, wine, and special events. The association's membership includes professionals in culinary arts and sciences, the wine growing and production industry, and hotel and hospitality management industries.

From IFWTWA's press release:

Non-IFWTWA members invited to attend Hawaii Conference via a special IFWTWA membership

Join us to discover the real Hawaii and you can share it with a guest. This special membership invitation is extended so you can see if IFWTWA provides benefits that are important for you.
This conference is going to be very special and quite difficult to duplicate. Check out the itinerary (http://ifwtwa.org).

It will cost $75 to join IFWTWA as a new member (special membership until 12/31/2013). The reason for the charge is to guarantee to the trip hosts that all journalists have been vetted for membership. Go to http://www.ifwtwa.org/membership and sign up for membership. Fill the form out completely. The application will be vetted and you will be advised of membership in order for your conference registration to proceed. On application for membership, put in "sending check" so it does not take you to PayPal. On the application, you will need two or three urls to articles on food, wine or travel within the past two years or a book published. Our Executive Director, Patty Anis (admin@ifwtwa.org) can assist you. Once approved, sign up for the conference.
