There have been many criticisms by female bodybuilders, fitness and figure athletes that the media has forgotten them in the mad rush to cover male bodybuilders and the complaints are coming at a time when the female divisions are considered to be a dieing breed. Sure, there are athletes having a good time and not so worried about the evolution that has been taking place while there are other athletes such as IFBB Pro Debi Laszewski who isn't going down without a fight. This doesn't mean she's getting "in-your-face" to make her point but instead has found a way to succeed in her bodybuilding career and to create a legacy that will far outlast her days as the Olympia bound athlete.
Laszewski's known for her chiseled physique and feminine beauty but behind these good looks there's a hardcore business woman that won't let the media hold her back. Yes, Laszewski has a following en masse when it comes to bodybuilding but this is not her only focus or success in life. Would it surprise fellow athletes that Laszewski has not taken a single day off since the Arnold Classic and intends to train right up to the Olympia? Most likely not. But, would it surprise Laszewki's fans and other athletes to know she has a degree in fashion and is the brain behind a haute couture line of dog clothing? Would it surprise her fans or the "mainstream" that she's the author of a book that's in the editing process and due out in the near future? Perhaps it will be a surprise and perhaps in some cases it will stun.
Laszewski, one of the leading ladies in bodybuilding, is taking the "bulls-by-the-horn" when it comes to creating her own legacy. As one of the most popular female bodybuilding figures she has not taken a moment to sit back and let sub-standard media for women's bodybuilding slow her down. Laszevski has not been hiding in the shadows waiting for opportunity to come knocking. Instead, she has readily marketed herself and kicked down the doors of opportunity by using her own initiative to earn a sponsorship with Monsta Clothing, open her own businesses and author an inspirational book that will hopefully help change the views of bodybuilding. Let's just say with all of these successes this is only the beginning for Laszewski.
