Can you believe it’s been 10 years since MINI (re)opened its doors in the U.S? Since then, MINI has become quite the icon in the United States. Yes indeed, to celebrate 10 years, MINI is adding some extra pizzazz to its annual road rally.
This is a public event and the MINI Takes the States rally should come through Denver. Remember: Denver’s MINI 5280 Club is one of the biggest around. This is just a “teaser” announcement as there are next to no details from MINI – yet. I will update you on the specifics as they come in.
The MINI Takes the States rally begins on July 4th 2012 on the east coast and finish on the west coast on July 15th.
Here are some excerpts from the press release:
“As MINI celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year in the US, thousands of MINI owners and enthusiasts will join the cross-country rally, or a leg of it, dotting the horizon with a gleaming caravan of MINIs. Along the way, MINI USA will provide its loyal owners and enthusiasts with genuine, once-in-a-lifetime motoring experiences. The 2010 event included a run on the Bonneville Salt Flats and laps on the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in addition to other engaging daily activities. MTTS 2012 route details and adventures are still being finalized; full details will be provided in the coming weeks.
Owners and enthusiasts can sign up now to receive updates at www.miniusa.com/mtts. Media with questions about the event or interested in participating should contact the MINI USA Communications Team directly.”- - MINI USA

I love automaker-sponsored rallies, they are usually as festive as a carnival, there are (usually) lots of fun autocross opportunities and there’s lots of swag to be had!
I’ll keep you updated.
