There is an official movement going on in Texas to secede from the Union. Unlike other states that have decided to secede from within their own state boundaries such as legislators in Colorado who are upset with the latest liberal legislation from their Governor who attacked their gun rights, the Texas Nationalist Movement is gearing up to support legislators who are willing to promote the secession of Texas legislatively, not with force, but with rule of law.
Who are the Texas National Movement and what is their mission statement? According to their website, the Texas National Movement is the largest and oldest organization solely dedicated to the freedom and independence of Texas. They are an unincorporated nonprofit association and count over 250,000 Texans as members and supporters in all 254 counties of Texas, all 50 states including several foreign countries with a significant number of active-duty military personnel currently deployed across the globe. This organization is completely funded by membership dues and donations of the general public and is 100% staffed by volunteers.
Three areas are stated in their mission statement. They are political, cultural, and economic.
Some of their political mission is to identify, communicate and organize with Texans who support independence; support candidates at all levels who support Texas nationalism; hold government officials under the current system at every level accountable to current laws and the Constitution.
Their cultural mission is to preserve Texas history and culture; educate Texans and the world about Texas history and culture; celebrate and defend Texas history and culture and improve and support the way of life in Texas communities.
Their economic mission is to promote the purchase of Texas goods and the use of Texas services by Texans; connect Texas businesses was skilled Texas workers; foster the Texas entrepreneurial spirit; support a sound economic system and policies; and promote fair trade between Texas and other nations.
One would ask how this is possible. Did you know that there is no wording in the US Constitution that forbids the secession of a state from the Union? Instead, it was just an opinion of the Supreme Court that a state could not unilaterally secede from the union. Look into the Texas vs. White, U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
