There have been rumblings about the judges leaving “Dancing with the Stars” for a couple of seasons now and those surrounding head Judge Len Goodman grew louder as season 17 drew to a close. The twice weekly trans-Atlantic flights have been wearing on the 69 year old. What may not have been widely known is that fellow judge Bruno Tonioli makes those trips with Len and if Len goes, he may too according to a Dec. 1 report on Celebrity Dirty Laundry.

The 11-hour flights from London to LA and back again have been causing exhaustion and disorientation for Len who has also complained of not having enough time with his family. HE is based out of London where he performs the same judging duties on “DWTS” parent show, “Strictly Come Dancing” alongside Tonioli, who is also based in the UK. Goodman has expressed a desire to cut back and if forced to choose, would opt to remain in London and just do the British show each week.

While Bruno has not made any noise about the grind wearing on him, there is a good chance that if Len drops out of the show, he will too. Together, the two judges add much of the humorous repartee and professional guiding influence on the show. If they both leave, it could have tremendous impact on the show. It would leave only Carrie Ann Inaba as the remaining original judge and just who might work well beside her is up for grabs.

The show has experimented with guest judges this year. Cher, Julianne Hough and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have all taken a turn at the judges table. While Cher’s appearance was not like an audition for the spot, it is possible the other two were. Both have appeared as professional dancers on the show and have a healthy knowledge of ballroom dance making them technically good choices. Would their background as pros on the show or their familial ties – each has sibling currently dancing as pros on the show – have any bearing on their ability to remain unbiased?

DO you think it’s time for a shakeup at the judges’ table? Who would you want to see in those seats if Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli leave “Dancing with the Stars”?
