For the ninth consecutive year, September is being celebrated as California Wine Month. Wine regions across the state are holding a multitude of special events and celebrations to recognize the impact the wine industry has on the culture and economy of California. For those in the Northern California area, this means it is once again time to get your passport for the Lodi Road Trip Passport 2013.
LoCA has put together the 2013 passport program, including almost 50 wineries, as well as special offers on local shopping, dining and accommodations, for the second year in a row. The passport consists of your very own 5 x 7.5 inch passport (not quite pocket-sized), chock full of offers and special events that you can participate in throughout the month. Each participating winery has their own page in the passport booklet, with a story about the winery, their vital information, and their special event and/or offering for the passport holder.
New this year, LoCA is offering passport holders the chance to redeem their passport stamps and be entered into a drawing for the possibility of winning prizes, including Wine and Chocolate for 2, and a special Lodi Wine Weekend Getaway for 2. As you visit each winery, get your passport stamped and once you have eight stamps you will be entered into the drawing.
There are 49 wineries in the passport, 30 days in September, and countless wines to be sampled (and purchased) in Lodi wine country. To purchase your Lodi Road Trip Passport 2013, simply visit any of the participating wineries (including the Lodi Wine and Visitor Center), go online to www.LodiRoadTrip.com, or call the Lodi Wine and Visitor Center at 209-365-0621. Passports are $20.00 per person, and good from September 1-30, 2013. If you are a wine club member at any of the participating wineries, see them for information on getting your passport for a reduced price.
