If God made it- you can eat it

Until Monsanto poisons it.

This column laughs at diets that prohibit foods found in nature. Many fruits or even vegetables are deemed too sweet. Ah carrots, what would this column do without you?

Not to mention rice, potatoes, tomatoes or whole grain.

Americans, for the large part, and folks who settle here, have stopped eating food.

This is not to say that calories are not consumed. They are and by the troughful.

About a third of our nation’s adults suffer from diabetes.

And don’t get this column started on the subject of food allergies.

Okay, the discussion has already begun.

There was a time when some folks couldn’t eat strawberries, or shellfish. Perhaps chocolate caused people to breakout. But now adverse reactions from food are the norm.

Elementary schools provide allergy tables in the cafeteria. There, free of gluten, peanuts and whatever, a child can eat in safety.

The BBC just banned bananas because of an individual’s allergies. Oh potassium, where art thou?

On a related note, McDonalds will add wings to their already frightening menu.

When did our bodies reject what nature provides?

How did people (one in three Americans) reach a point when they cannot properly maintain healthy insulin levels?

Of course, allergies do and have existed. In fact, this column’s father suffered from them. But it is now an epidemic. Along with a host of preventable ailments.

All faiths recognize that everyone gets sick and eventually dies. But we should not be the engineers of this fate.

There are toxins in the environment and growing in nature.

But there is also a bounty of nutrition available. Maybe if we started consuming healthy victuals, our bodies would stop shutting down.

It's really not rocket science. If the bag has more fiber than the meal, rethink your diet.
