It’s great when traveling to wander through small towns and find a small wine store with great selections and a wonderful and friendly feeling! And if you are visiting Idyllwild, you’ll find exactly that at Idyll Awhile Wine Shoppe and Bistro.
Idyll Awhile is located in downtown (which is pleasantly small) Idyllwild. Nestled on the southwest side of North Circle Drive, the Wine Shoppe is a warm, cozy, and family run business. Owned by Dave and Julie Dillon, and assisted by their son Jared, the Shoppe caters to both locals and Idyllwild visitors.
Entering the store finds you approaching a central wine bar and serving area. Surrounding walls have a fine selection of wines and beers the Shoppe is proud to feature.
With a large selection of carefully chosen wines and more than 30 craft beers available, Idyll Awhile provides a tasting experience comparable to many fine wine bars in much larger cities. In addition to the wines and beers, the Shoppe also has a full kitchen providing gourmet foods to accompany the wines.
Several evenings each week there is music to listen to as you enjoy the beverage and food opportunities available. In addition, the Shoppe also features local artists and their art. Overall, this can add up to a very pleasurable evening.
Owners Dave and Julie purchased Idyll Awhile two years ago with the intent to provide Idyllwild with a high quality wine store and restaurant. As the store has grown, they have built up a faithful clientele who enjoy the wine choices provided and consider the store an essential part of the Idyllwild community. Friday nights is “Locals Night” and the store is a gathering place for both the friends of Idyll Awhile as well as visitors from out of town.
So, if you are wandering up to Idyllwild, here is a place to come too early in your trip. Any later and you will wish you had come the first day to learn more about it. Enjoy!
Have a winederful day!
