Adam's popularity and sales proves once again that the vote was not fair. Arkansas may have stolen the vote for Kris but now in the real world, during the tour Adam was the star, now in Album sales, Adam is the star. Kris' home state fans, many who voted 10,000 time each just will not buy 10,000 albums. Sorry Kris, we know who the real winner is.
I know Adam is ranked #2. Where is David ranked?
David Archuleta's preorder has been up for over 14 days--more like a month or more; it's just been in the top 100 for 14 days total, over time. When it first went up for preorder it made it to #3. And, fun fact--both David Cook and David Archuleta shot to #1 on Amazon preorders with their debut albums last year. The media is acting like what Adam is doing is unusual for popular people who come out of Idol-it's not. Even Clay's last (poorly selling) album shot to #1 when it went for preorders. By the way, David Archuleta's Christmas album is now at #56.
David Archuleta's album on pre-order went to #1 just a few weeks ago, and has been in the top 100 for the last few weeks, it's also up for pre-order at Walmart, Amazon Canada, Tower Records, and a ton of other places including international releases..so, todays #72 isn't going to tell you anything.

Amazon represents only a tiny % of the total sales. You can't really compare Xmas album with debut albums. I think David's Xmas cd got to #2 or 3 when it first came out, his debut album was #1 last year on amazon for a while, don't know about Kris'. Glad Adam's doing well so far.
Go listen to the snipets of David's Xmas album, it's fantastic, especially the one he wrote, Melodies of Xmas.
David is ranked, and he was #1 for a while, he's always going to be the better runner up IN MY OPINION!
David Archuleta was at number #3 when first available for preorder and has been available for about a month... in the top 100 for about to weeks. It's currently at #56 overall and #1 in holiday music. His sophomore album is do out in the spring. David Archuleta is the real deal not a fly by the night happenstance.

David should be in school finishing up his high school diploma instead of spending time making an album of songs we've all heard millions of times before. What makes him think his album will be any different or any better than anyone else? Simple answer, it won't.
David Archuleta of course!!!!! For me it is all about his beyond amazing voice, his gorgeous talent, his beautiful personality!!! even if he doesn't hit the #1 spot on the top sellers list, we know that David Archuleta is going to have a very long, successful music career. He is simple THE BEST!
and who are you, minime, to be the decider of how people should be spending their lives - maybe you need to be spending your time and life involved in more productive activities, like charity work, helping the homeless and people affected by disaster and disease - like david. instead of spreading your sanctimonious and judgmental garbage on a fun poll, why not support his efforts to use his god given talents in a way that brings joy to millions, and spread hope. what better way to use your talent, than the way david is doing. you can go fly a kite, and let the rest of us enjoy his gift in this holiday season.
Quoting Amazon rank for presales on either says nothing. You forgot to mention that those numbers fluctuate dramatically everytime a new CD comes out for preorder. I'm sure both CDs will sell well. I hope Adam's debut CD comes out as strong as David's #2 debut in Billboard (those numbers aren't as fluid as the ones you are quoting here).
keep in mind folks that when taking a long view, david's amazon success is the better story.. my lord, how many christmas cd's attract this much buzz, and interest, in august and september? a freaking christmas album, able to go to the top of amazon, and remain competitive - not just in the bestsellers category, but he also tops the charts there in the opera/vocal category, and in overall miscellaneous music. david has people clamoring to hear his renditions of these classics, one sung in spanish, one in french, and ave maria in latin - because this is a guy who is a masterclass level vocalist, and though the songs may be familiar, his voice, and vocal delivery will be new, and fresh to the ears of the listener. archuleta is the real deal here, and the media can spin lambert any way they wish... cream always rises to the top, and we're beginning to see archuleta begin his. this is the ''must have'' christmas cd this season, and it's archuleta who makes all the difference.
come on vicki, give it up... i say this as an archuleta fan, and we know how you all feel, but you must let the residual bitterness of the loss go, or it will hamper everything about staying focused, and in the moment for your fave. what's done is done. adam lost to allen. david lost to cook. it's in the past. both have bright, bright futures ahead, and it serves neither one of them in their fans perpetuate a lot of bitterness and anger toward a result that is part of history. move forward with your fave into the new beginning, and put the past in the past... it gets old after awile hearing the perpetual whining, and excuses - been there, done that. it's the future that matters, so concentrate on that, and let the past go.
Minime, it's sad to see you attack David with such harsh words. He's never thought his album or singing is better than anybody's - if anything he's very humble and thankful that the Lord allowed him to have a vocal cord to be able to sing. Please be open minded and fair! I like Adam very much and I will buy his album - I just happen to be a David fan.
I'm voting for David, but that doesn't mean I don't think Adam has talent and will do well. We don't have to bash one to be a fan of another. I didn't bash Cook when he won over David. Cook was just not my cup of tea. Adam is not the kind of entertainer that I will want to listen to. The poll asks who's album "I" am most excited to hear and that is how I voted. If you are excited for Adam's, vote that way. No problem here.
Both guys are very talented and I hope they both do very well! My guess they will too! Yes I am a David fan... for me I just like his style of music but I think Adam will do amazing as well! Can't wait it feels like Christmas already!!

MiniMe...how do you know what David is doing in regards to earning his high school diploma? Simply, you DONT know! I for one cannot wait until the release of David's CD Christmas From The Heart on 10/13. From hearing the snippets of the songs today, his CD sounds amazing.

Why are you taking out losing on David Archuleta? He wasn't in competition with Adam on AI and isn't now. David's album is a Christmas album and this is Adam's first. They are entirely different type singers so why the comparison. The David fans were devastated when he lost but we got over it and moved on and we are so proud of David and all he has accomplished and will accomplish in the future. Just be proud of Adam and look forward to the future for him.

Adam fans please don't turn us off to Adam! We like him very much and want to support him but your bitterness is causing us to not want to support him. Adam's fans don't have to prove anything. first before i say my comment, Minime david has been working on his high school diploma, but he really wanted to make a christmas album for his fans, whats so bad about that? and ya a lot of us have heard most of the christmas songs but there not jingle bells and santa claus is coming to town, they are the songs about the real meaning of christmas, the ones you sing in church, plus a couple in spanish plus one that david cowrote himself. if you think because we have heard the songs numerous times before he shouldnt be able to share his gift through them i can just say your very coldhearted.

I have personally pre-ordered 10 of David Archuleta's Christmas cds, one for myself and the rest as gifts to friends & family. We are comparing apples to oranges here. David's cd is a Christmas cd and Adam's is a rock cd. Very different! I voted for Adam on AI this last year because he is a fabulous performer. I probably won't buy his cd but I still like him.

What Adam has is the backing of the media and they will continue to pimp him. David has had NONE whatsoever but remains VERY successful. I voted for David but let's be real, we all have different tastes and Adam just isn't my cup of tea. I know many of you Adam fans will say the same thing about David. And that's fine with me. No need to get all riled up over nothing.
grow up folks - and try to be civil here... rude on both sides part to lower themselves to name calling... it doesn't warrant all that... people like who and what they like, but writing people off for the way you perceive they look - silly. judge them based on their musical merits, and achievement... david is successful in his own right, as a standalone artist, adam is just beginning to build his track record away from idol, so give them both the respect they deserve. it's easy to sit at a keyboard and throw darts at people who put themselves out there like these two, it's easy also to be lulled into false senses of security of judging success, based on amazon chart positions... this is a long distance race these two are in, they've got to prove themselves over and over again every time they release a song or album, so never get lulled into thinking it's all a cakewalk, cause it isn't. good luck to them both, and i hope they both stand the test of time.

Adam fans, why do you continue to bash an individual who puts out to his fans to support Adam and check out his music? David is so supportive and has a special place in his heart for all AI alumni. This is one time I will not listen to David because it's difficult to hear Adam's fans doing a great job of losing support from others! The sad thing is despite all the bashing David gets - he continues to be sincere to everyone.
I have already preordered David's Christmas CD and I can't wait to hear the full songs on it! I love both Adam and David's voice, but personally, I need to hear what songs Adam has on his CD before actually purchasing it. It may be a little bit over the top for my taste. I love Adam's rendition on U2's song though and I'm hoping it'll be something like that.
with fans like adam has, he doesn't need enemies. why are you all so filled with bitterness, pride and arrogance in the way you deal with the fans of other idols, and the idols themselves... there were idols that were/are successful before adam, there will be afterwards... he didn't invent anything new on idol... he is another very talented singer and entertainer, who looks to have a promising future, but the way you carry on with the rudeness, belligerence and obnoxious behavior, you are turning off potential fans he may need down the road. you don't burn your bridges, and from the looks of it, you're burning through them rapidly with other idol fanbases.
step back, support your fave, respect the others who have come before you, and never think that anything out here in the music business is a lock. what's hot now is tomorrow's fish wrapper... lay off the insults, lay off the obnoxious and rude behavior... act like fans - with some sense.
Some people really need to chill out. I won't bash Adam, he's talented, i'll give him that, I just prefer David Archuleta music just as I prefered Kris Allen's music to Adam's. He really isn't my cup of tea, he will do good though. His vocals are awesome, but that doesn't make David any less, same with Kris. David's voice just gets me in a way that other singers don't get me. It's all opinions. I think David is better, but that is my opinion. This is a Christmas album, not his debut, or his sophomore album, it's his CHRISTMAS album, and the fact that it's doing so well before it comes out in OCTOBER is really good :) Adam will do good, im sure of it, but both Adam and David are only just beginning their careers, and im excited to see how both do in the long run. I'll just be following David faithful, as he's inspired me to help out be be nicer. :)

David's album is #1 on Holiday Music charts and has been holding that spot for some time now. It's number #36 on the bestseller in Music. My christmas wish is for people to stop comparing David to other AI contestants. It has been a while, David is in a different league now. He has his own place in music industry now. Nobody compare Jennifer Hudson anymore. So lets just stop comparing David.
