‘Idol’ Phillip Phillips returns to Detroit

American Idol’ winner Phillip Phillips is returning to Detroit this week for a very special and intimate concert.

Phillips will perform a free 'River Session' at The Magic Stick on February 14 - Valentine’s Day at 3pm. The concert is courtesy of radio station 93.9, The River.

The Magic Stick is located at 4120 Woodward Avenue in Detroit. Space is limited, so get there early.

Phillips was last in Detroit for the ‘Idol’ summer tour last summer. The tour kicked off in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena.

Popular top 10 finalists Erika, Joshua, Colton, Skylar, Elise, Hollie, Jessica, DeAndre, and Heejun were also part of the ‘American Idol’ tour.

I was lucky enough to attend the private dress rehearsal to see this amazing young man hit the stage.

Phillips didn’t perform until the second half of the show – but it was well worth the wait. This young man is unbelievable. He has a unique, sexy quality – one that commands attention. Throughout the season, many compared Phillips to Dave Mathews. It was very clear last summer that Phillips has come into his own as a musician. He’s an artist in every sense of the word, and one that compares to no other.

If you’re a Phillips fan, don’t miss this free River Session.

Listen to 93.9 The River for a chance to meet Phillip Phillips after Thursday’s show.
