On his May 31 trip to Walt Disney World commemorating his “American Idol" win, Lee DeWyze visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As part of his visit, DeWyze participated in a celebrity motorcade before making an appearance at The American Idol Experience.
After riding along the Hollywood Boulevard parade route with Mickey Mouse, DeWyze addressed the crowd. He spoke briefly about his own “American Idol” experience before taking part in the theme-park attraction based on the television show.
DeWyze also participated in a Disney interview following his The American Idol Experience visit. In that interview, which is embedded below, DeWyze shared his impressions of the theme-park attraction. He also briefly discussed his reaction to winning "Idol" as well as some general plans for his first album.
After noting the attraction’s stage appears very realistic when compared with the television show’s set, DeWyze offered his perceptions on what The American Idol Experience means for its participants:
It gives people that maybe won’t make it to the big stage, or would not have auditioned, or whatever, either a chance to get the front of the line [Dream Ticket, which provides guaranteed access to an “American Idol” audition] if they win or, for that moment, you know, just feel like they’re doing it. And I think that’s what it’s all about, really, is giving them a sense of “I could be on the big stage.” And that’s cool, it’s a great opportunity […].

DeWyze is the second “American Idol” participant this season to praise The American Idol Experience. Aaron Kelly, whose performance at The American Idol Experience earned him the “front of the line” Dream Ticket DeWyze referred to, also gave the attraction high marks.
