Identity Thief is an adventure of a comedy and it's funny, as is Melissa McCarthy, who plays identity thief Diana.
McCarthy steals the identity of Sandy Bigelow Patterson, played by Jason Bateman.
As is surely the norm, Diana has stolen thousands of dollars worth of alcohol, household goods, gasoline and various other sundries. She's aggressive too. This also sullies her target's good name, as she uses his identity when she gets caught.
In an attempt to bring Diana from where she is, in Florida, to where Bateman is, in Colorado, he takes a drive to retrieve her. He is successful.
Craziness ensues and by the time he gets her home, he has a change of heart. He realizes how much pain she's in and decides not to press charges.
Diana also has a change of heart and turns herself in.
Daniel: Those are cops.
Daniel: We're gonna have to talk about our actions. We're gonna have to let you go.
Detective Reilly: You got your good name back. Congratulations.
Diana: 'Cause, I knew you weren't gonna turn me in.
Diana: I drunk drive all the time. Never had a problem.
Diana (to Sandy): I'm gonna sue you.
Diana (to Sandy): I'm visually enjoying you.
Diana: You follow the rules. Right?
Marisol (about Diana and Sandy): She's with some nut.
Marisol: We'll get the money.
Sandy: 407. Where is that?
Sandy: I borrowed your anxiety pills, 'cause I might have to coax her on(to) the plane.
Sandy: It's because she repulses me. She's the worst person I've ever met.
Sandy: It's not me doing this stuff.
Sandy: My bills are paid.
Sandy (to Diana): Sandy Bigelow Patterson. Gotcha!
Sandy: Something wrong with pump 5. It's not taking my card.
Skiptracer: She jumped bail and I've been hired to bring her back.
Sandy: Do you know what a sociopath is?
Diana: Do they like ribs?
