It was sprinkling rain early this morning in Arlington, Virginia while still very dark. Then, just as dawn happened a deep freeze set in across the area. If you happened to be looking out the window you could see the transformation from cold rain to freezing ice. In what seemed like seconds, ice formed on all of the trees and structures. It was beautiful however treacherous.
Photography is the best medium for seizing upon the frozen images. Taking pictures must happen quickly because everyone knows that ice can melt as fast as it was formed when the temperature rises.
People with pets have no option, but to continue with their morning routines. The bloodhound was not deterred by the diminished scent buried under a sheet of ice.
Banners featuring polar bears are hanging on poles and are dripping ice cycles.
