NAO will be hosting an exclusive wine tasting dinner event on Friday October 11, 2013. “Icons of the Andes” will consist of 16 South American and Spanish wines along with a four course dinner specifically prepared by Chef Geronimo Lopez.
To start off the night there will be reception from 6p.m. to 7p.m. that will feature eight wines with amuse bouche like smoked provoleta and leek empanadas.
The dinner will consist of four courses paired with two wine selections.
- First course: Conch, mussel and shrimp cocktail
- Second course: Chifa style rice “saltado”
- Third course: Fire Roasted Aged Rib Eye
- Fourth course: Chocolate Pot de Crème
Guests will have an opportunity to meet South American and Spanish wine makers as well as brand ambassadors on site.
NAO is a student-staffed restaurant at the Culinary Institute of America. Their menu features Latin American dishes rooted in tradition but reinvented using a variety of ingredients and techniques. The name itself comes from the Latin root “neo” (to weave or intertwine) and the English root meaning something new.
