" Barbara is alert - and telling everyone what to do - which we all take as a very positive sign.” ~~ Jeffrey Schneider, ABC News
Breaking news just minutes ago, iconic journalist and veteran ABC newswoman, Barbara Walters, while visiting British Ambassador Peter Westmacott at his home in Washington DC during an inauguration party on Saturday, fell down the stairs and cut her forehead, according to a Politico report earlier today.
Eighty-three-year-old Walters, who has had heart surgery a few years ago, was at the capital to cover the inauguration of US President Barack Obama.
Walters will not be reporting for ABC on Monday (January 20) and will remain in a DC hospital an unspecified duration for observation.
Walters’ "Most Fascinating People" recently aired and included Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Olympic Gold medalist Gabby Douglas, actor/director Ben Affleck, British boy band sensation One Direction, "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James and "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane child star Honey Boo Boo.
