Rapper turned "Law & Order: SVU" actor, Ice-T, hasn’t yet commented on the arrest of his 19-year-old grandson, Elyjah Marrow. Marrow, who you may have seen on Ice-T’s reality TV show, "Ice Loves Coco," was arrested last week after he “accidently shot and killed his 19-year-old roommate,” according to a June 27 report from The Huffington Post.

Reportedly breaking one of the cardinal rules of responsible handgun ownership, Marrow was “playing with a handgun in his Georgia apartment June 24 when it went off and fatally shot Daryus Johnson.” Ice-T’s grandson was arrested on multiple charges, including involuntarily manslaughter, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, reckless conduct, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

According to TMZ, police say that Marrow was fiddling with the handgun in his Marietta apartment when it accidentally discharged, resulting in the fatal shooting death of his roommate. As of yesterday, Marrow was still in police custody.

First responders found Johnson unconscious and lying on the floor when they arrived at Marrow’s apartment. Following the shooting, Johnson was transported to Georgia’s WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Not too long after arriving at the hospital, Johnson was pronounced deceased from that fatal gunshot wound. The Daily News quoted Marietta Police Officer David Baldwin as saying that Ice-T’s grandson “was not using proper firearms safety when handling the gun."

"That reckless handling of the firearm is what led to Johnson being accidentally shot and eventually killed."

“Ice Loves Coco,” debuted on E! in June 2011 and showcased the daily lives of Ice-T and his celebrity wife Coco Austin, with appearances made by Marrow. The show ran three seasons before Ice-T announced canceling the show. Rumors for the show’s cancellation stemmed from the possibility of Ice-T and Coco hosting their own talk show.

Ice-T’s daughter, Tracy Lauren Marrow, a.k.a. LeTesha, is Marrow’s mom. LeTesha also appeared on “Ice Loves Coco.” LeTesha followed in her father’s entertainment footsteps and “is the CEO and host of “T-Tea-V Behind the Scenes” show and an assistant director,” according to Heavy.
