Ice cream trucks street race I-75

Street racing is a very popular yet taboo racing event that has been going on for years. Ever since man invented the wheel, there was racing. Now there is a crew of ice cream trucks that street race on I-75. This isn't much of a race to speak of, but the fact two ice cream trucks are dueling it out Wangan style for top speed battle is pretty interesting. Obviously speeding isn't in their business plan, so how are we supposed to get ice cream when they fly by at 90 mph?

Ice cream truck specifications

  • Ford Econoline features up to V10 with 305 horsepower at 4250 RPM and 420 foot pounds of torque at 3250 RPM. Diesel model offers 215 horsepower at 2600 RPM and 425 foot pounds of torque at 1800 RPM. Amazing!
  • Chevrolet Express features up to six liter V8 with 319 horsepower at 4600 RPM and 367 foot pounds of torque at 4400 RPM.

Who knew ice cream trucks could be this powerful! The ice cream "trucks" used appear to be utility vans Ford Econoline and Chevrolet Express. These utility vans feature heavy duty transmissions and engines and are designed for hauling and load capacity. With out load, the heavy duty suspension rides pretty smooth and the engine is powerful enough for desired acceleration. If modified, these utility vans could see extreme gains just like other V8 trucks. The world of utility van performance and racing is yet to be explored, but rest assure I will find it. So the next time you're out on I-75 and you see some ice cream trucks battling it out, you might want to move aside or end up in sticky situation.
