Local Los Angeles area non-profit IBG, Inc has announced two more talented ladies for their already-amazing staged reading cast of “My Letter to Fear,” to be performed on stage for one afternoon only on Sunday, June 24th 2012. Tracie Thoms and Elyse Levesque are the additions.
Levesque is best known for her role on Stargate Universe, but she also recently recurred on Smallville, while Thoms co-starred on Cold Case, most recently held court on Harry’s Law, but will always be RENT’s Joanne to us!
(We will resist the urge to show her our RENT lyric tattoo at the staged reading, though. Promise.)
“My Letter to Fear” is certainly shaping up as the place to be on the 24th! The staged reading taking place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel right here in Los Angeles is also starring headliner Constance Marie, Jen Lilley, Elizabeth De Razzo, Charlene Tilton, Jennifer Aspen, Lesley Fera, Mekenna Melvin, and Tamara Taylor.
The reading is a collection of personal essays, broken down monologue style, written by IBG, Inc’s own Patricia Steffy. Ranging from comedic to heartbreaking, the stories told within are ones that tap into the female perspective by offering commentary on and first-hand accounts of everything from what a woman’s worth, to finding inner peace and self-confidence, to abuse, and misguided relationships.
Tickets are on sale now on IBG, Inc's official website, the proceeds from which will benefit the East L.A. Women’s Center.
