Iberia has announced it will raise from seven to 10 the number of weekly Chicago-Madrid flights for the summer high season.

In addition to the current daily flights for that route, additional flights will operate on Thursdays, Sundays and either Fridays or Saturday between Chicago O'Hare and Iberia's T4 hub in Madrid-Barajas. The additional flights will operate in June, July and August.

The flights leave Chicago mid-afternoon and arrive early-morning the next day, allowing travelers easy connections to the Spanish airline's more than 70 destinations in Spain, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The route will be serviced by Iberia's new Airbus A330, in which business class travelers have access to seats that recline into flat beds with individual 15-inch touch screens for entertainment.

Economy class seats are larger and more comfortable and feature 9-inch touch screens.
