In surprising news, famous Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe has come out as a gay man. It hasn't actually been shared with the world yet, but this TV interview will air on Sunday night and that is when everything is going to come out. On Saturday, Huffington Post shared about the big announcement that will happen tomorrow night.

Ian Thorpe sat down with Sir Michael Parkinson for this interview. It will be airing on Sunday and reports are that he tells the world he is a gay man. He is a famous Olympic swimmer and is actually considered to be one of the best ever. He will also reveal that there is depression going on and he even spent some time in rehab because of it earlier this year.

Thorpe has dated women in the past but that doesn't mean that people haven't wondered about his sexuality. Everyone has wondered if he was gay but he has never revealed it. Ian Thorpe has stayed quiet about his sexuality and he has even covered it by dating women. He might have been a bit unsure of his sexuality at the time though.

Back in 2012, Ian Thorpe said, "'For the record, I am not gay and all my sexual experiences have been straight. I'm attracted to women, I love children and aspire to have a family one day … I know what it's like to grow up and be told what your sexuality is, then realising that it's not the full reality. I was accused of being gay before I knew who I was.'' He might have just not wanted to share the news with everyone yet.

This interview will air on Australian television. USA fans are curious to hear the news but they won't get to see it all go down until it is posted online.
