On September 23, Ian Somerhalder joined his fellow Conde Nast Traveller ‘visionaries’ for a gala dinner at The Marquand 11 East 68th St, NYC, a swanky hotel which is still not open to the public.
According to Conde Nast Traveller.com even though the dinner was extravagant, the exchanges between game changers was the highlight of the evening. Ian broached an idea to Tscheked Khama who is Botswana’s Minister of Environment and Tourism. ‘In all humility, sir, Allen Savory has a plan that will help revitalize the Chobe National Park and establish Botswana as the leader in sustainable development in Africa. I have a power plant I would like to show you.’
Ian tweeted about his ‘date’ to this celebratory gala this weekend in NYC. ‘ Me and my beautiful Mama-the O.G. Woman in my life/world @condasttraveler Visionairies Dinner this weekend in NYC. Besides Ian the guest list to this honorary gala included el Seed who draws peaceful graffiti on buildings, Jeffrey Deitch art dealer and director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, senior curator of the Department of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art designer Paola Antonelli, One of the founders of Warby Parker an online optical company that for each pair purchased gives one to Vision Spring Neil Blumenthal, and HFZ Capital Group (real estate) Ziel Feldman.
