In Ian Somerhalder’s tweet announcing the news, he used two words- “Badd Ass… (am) so grateful to be part of this, truly. His next tweet offers a quotation from Olivia Mann concerning the use of coal which incidentally is the subject of his segment. ‘The interesting thing about renewable energy actually creates four to five as many jobs as coal does.’

In Episode 4, Ian travels to Asheville South Carolina where he joins a Beyond Coal rally to shut down an ancient coal driven power plant –the carbon is a major pollutant in that city.(And many other cities as well). The goal of the organization is to ultimately shut down 158 power plants that are coal operated . Achieving that be the same as getting rid of 45,000,000 cars.

Another segment in the same show involves Ian having a conversation with Rick Joyner and evangelical preacher with a large following. His daughter’s interest in climate change has caused a rift between them and Ian respectfully gives him scientific proof that the situation is real and that it is his obligation to repeat these truths to his congregation.

I you have not watched it-the time is now.
