As any true follower of the ‘Vampire Diaries’ knows, Ian Somerhalder spent the winter hiatus in China. Vampire Diaries Canada reported the nature of his visit was a Fanstang supported media blitz to promote his newly formed Weibo account which is a Chinese form of Facebook and Twitter. His itinerary included the cities of Shanghai, Guangzhou and Bejing.
A few videos and pics have surfaced on Youtube of his various public appearances. One video is a Q & A sponsored by his partnership with LOVO Luolai, China which is a textile company that makes clothing that Ian calls ‘A celebration of my home of America . I feel right at home. Lovo is recognized by China as a very good company with good business practices… It is a very respectful thing’. When asked about his upcoming projects he mentioned ‘The Anomoly’ his movie that is coming out this spring and this summer he is directing a documentary in Africa about the scientist Alan Savoy which will deal with the subject of climate change.’
Just Jared reports that he made an appearance at the BenQ G2F Digital Camera event in Beijing wearing his signature Fedora and posing for pictures.
A frequently shown video on YouTube that comes from VQQ.com presents Ian in a black ISF t-shirt covered by his signature Damon Salvatore leather jacket surrounded by a bevy of beautiful Chinese girls. They are all circling around him to the tune of Sugar by the Archies and he kisses each one admitting that he likes kissing girls.
Another segment of the video shows him in a chef’s hat “butchering’ a roast duck apologizing to both the real chef and the duck itself for messing it up.
In the final segment he has a stare down contest with different girls. He tries everything from seductive to silly to try to get them to laugh or at least smile. That must be a very difficult situation for the girls being that near to him and seeing such funny faces and those steamy blue eyes looking at you.
