Ian Somerhalder tweeted yesterday morning (March 5) ‘busiest day I think I’ve ever had…Wow’ and then tweeted further ‘so grateful to have the best team of people in my life – thank you all seriously’. When he mentions team he usually is referring to the staff at the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. This status was tweeted during the week when he usually is shooting Vampire Diaries episodes. Could the team be the Vampire Diaries Crew? I’m sure we will find out.
On Saturday March 3, he (and the ISF staff probably) flew to New Orleans to head #ISF Think Tank. It was scheduled to be an earth summit of sorts to discuss the latest and most environmentally friendly ways to conduct business, teach and invent. Even his father got into the spirit by teaching participants how to drive heavy equipment. Ian named the earth symposium ISFEPICENTARIUM.
This month Ian is on the cover of Origin Magazine exposing his s bare torso with a sign in front declaring Generation Extinction. The photo shoots showcases the photographic genius of his brother-in –law Butch Hogan in Ian’s living room. The article headline reads ‘the Naked Truth Are We the New Extinct Species’ He asks his fans to buy a copy, read the article and “Support the Cause’. Origin Magazine is available at Whole Foods, maybe Barnes and Noble and there are phone and online sources where it can be purchased.
One more hurdle has been won towards building the animal shelter (etc.) the Ian Somerhalder Foundation won the BiLLe Celebrity Challenge in February and will be presented with a check for 25,000 pounds. Lyndi-Ann C is the ‘SuperFan’ who nominated him and a fan chosen from all the votes will be flown to a prearranged destination to witness Ian presented with the check and possibly a meet and great with him.
