Ian Somerhalder enters his own book into Mozilla Foxfire Challenge drawing (Video)

Ian Somerhalder enters his own copy of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ into a drawing at the Mozilla Firefox Challenge. The final days of the Challenge are upon us and Ian wants to win the $50,000 donation that goes to the first place winner for his foundation.

Today, January 7, 2013, at 7:28 a.m. he tweeted ‘Win my personal copy of 50 Shades with a personal note (smiley face) crowdrise.com/ianmfc Help ISF with the MFC!’

The Challenge page states that if you raise or donate by 1/9 @11:59 p.m.(EST) that you could win his copy of 50 Shades of Grey (starting at 1/’7 at 10 a.m. EST). He’ll include a personal note in one of the passages he liked most.

Mr. Somerhalder began the donation page for his birthday wish (December 9), in lieu of tangible gifts. His charity will be the Ian Somerhalder Foundation which he started 2 years ago to aid the Gulf Oil Spill in his native Louisiana. He found the devastation heartbreaking to the earth, its people and it’s creatures and vowed that it can’t happen again. ‘The ISF ‘aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and it’s creatures. ‘

The Foundation is a little over two years old and it has 200 branches all over the world. Ian is trying to secure the land for ISF’s no-kill animal shelter that will house abused or misunderstood animals. And then will bring in human bullies to care for them and compassion and understanding will bloom between them.

On a lighter note, Ian is back on the set of the Vampire Diaries having just returned from his Christmas vacation in Asia. At 3:02 a.m. today (January 7) he tweeted ‘back in the Saddle and ready to work # tvd time. Up. 6 a.m. training, breakfast, study lines, bite someone…’ Even at 3:02 a.m. he has a sense of humor. It makes a normal workday pale in comparison. We need a chuckle early on Monday morning-it’s motivating.
