Ian Somerhalder calls the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' story 'dynamic'

Ian Somerhalder simply cannot get away from "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting questions. On March 28 USA Today published a video of the actor responding to the rumors. Somerhalder also relived a moment he had with a fan where the woman looked up from reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" and was embarrassed to find her vision of Christian Grey standing in front of her because "in her mind, just from seeing media, I was that guy." Many fans consider Somerhalder to be "that guy" and are eager to see the "Vampire Diaries" star explore his erotic side as Christian Grey.

Somerhalder, 34, was very humble in the interview, even down playing his status as a Christian Grey favorite saying, "almost every guy in Hollywood, in some way shape or form, is up for this role." While Somerhalder may be accurate in his statement, it is a fact that he is talked about more than any other actor and has won numerous polls showing just how popular he is. The coy actor may be preparing fans for the possibility of him not being cast, as he also mentioned earlier in the month that a lot of "young boys" were interested in the role. While Somerhalder is by no means old at 34, Christian Grey is only 27 at the start of the first book.

It is said that flattery will get you everywhere and Ian Somerhlader knows how to use it. He has already admitted to reading the "Fifty Shades" trilogy and wanting to play Christian Grey but in this interview he went one step further and complimented the author. "I just think E L James created this really bad ass, dynamic set of stories. Some really cool characters. A treat at times, a little uncomfortable at times." James has already skirted around the Ian Somerhalder casting rumors, admitting she likes "Vampire Diaries" and posting a photo of the actor wearing a masquerade mask on her twitter feed.

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" film team has yet to make any official casting announcements and fans are expecting a director first. For breaking news alerts follow Fifty Shades Examiner on Facebook and Twitter.
