Most of us know that whenever musicians want to help out for a good cause they do it through music. There has been a lot of music projects for charity throughout the years, but a few months ago I came across one of the most interesting charity projects I've seen in years. The project is called WhoCares. The reason why I became so interested in this is because of the great line up that it has. Some of the most famous names in rock and metal come together to make music. The line up includes Deep Purple's Ian Gillan, Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain, and HIM's (Also Daniel Lioneye) Mikko "Linde" Lindström. When I first heard about this I thought that it was just a rumor, but it turned out to be very much true. I got in touch with Linde Lindström who confirmed and also commented "It is very surreal and I'm very excited about it, of course!". earMUSIC, which is a label based on Hamburg released the CD single back in early May which includes two songs, "Out Of My Mind" and "Holy Water". The songs were released with the intent to support the rebuilding of a music school in Gyumri, Armenia. There were a couple of editions of the single released. It can either be purchased as a digital download or a limited edition CD single which also contains a 40-minute documentary that shows Gillan's and Iommi's involvement with the Armenia cause over the years and the music video for "Out Of My Mind". All editions of the single can be found on Amazon.co.uk. For more information on the WhoCares project, make sure to visit Ear-Music.net.
