Iams has released another food recall. On Dec. 6 Proctor Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) announced they are voluntarily recalling a single production lot of Iams brand dog food.
The number of recalls is more than a tidbit scary as it has happened more than a few times within the last year. The reason for recent reacall is due to aflatoxin, a mold-like growth that stems from the growth of aspergillus flavus and can be toxic to pets. Often aflatoxin is related to liver damage and cancer.
Elevated aflatoxin levels could be a very dangerous situation. Read additional information on aflatoxin here.
