They are highly coveted in business communications circles, the Copper Quill Awards presented each year by the Phoenix Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). Area firms are now on notice that the deadlines for entries have been set.

The Copper Quill Awards recognize outstanding business communications work by Valley communicators. Award categories include communication research management, communication management, communication skills and communication training and education. The competition is open to both IABC members and non-members.
A posting on IABC’s website states, “We are proud to present new divisions and categories this year that open the Copper Quill program to new audiences and that are consistent with this year’s Gold Quill divisions.” Award entries are reviewed by communications professionals from other IABC chapters around the nation with entrants benefiting by comments from the judges. Winners gain recognition through a variety of media outlets as well as recognition at the Copper Quill Awards event. In winning an award, recipients gain visibility and a good measure of credibility which can help with clients.
Valley communicators have had their work recognized with IABC Southern Region Silver Quill Awards and IABC International Gold Quill Awards, which are the pinnacle of achievement in business communications. The IABC Phoenix chapter has been recognized many times with Chapter Awards at IABC’s Leadership Institute and has been named Chapter of the Year on many occasions.
