On Tuesday, November 9, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Orange County chapter will host a panel of experts who will discuss multicultural communication.

Topics will include:

  • The growth and influence of multi-cultural audiences, and how these trends are shaping the future of our discipline
  • How (and why!) to integrate a multicultural approach into your communication plans
  • Emerging communities and the opportunities they present

Panelists are recognized for their leadership in multicultural PR and marketing:

Sandra Bernardo, APR, President of Bernardo Public Relations
Sandra A. Bernardo, APR is a nationally recognized multicultural consultant. She has received more than fifteen industry awards for her campaigns including the PR Week Magazine Multicultural Marketing Campaign of the Year Award. Complimenting her professional work, Sandra is a true student of multicultural dynamics and has participated in exchange programs to other countries and is a graduate of the Orange County United Way Multi-Ethnic Leadership Institute. She also has held several prominent positions for organizations including serving as president of the Hispanic Public Relations Association. Sandra has been a public relations instructor for UCLA as well as a guest lecturer for several universities on the topic of multicultural outreach. She is also the founder of Diversity Media iQ, a free online resource that connects public relations professionals with journalists and bloggers from ethnic and niche media organizations.

Judy Iannaccone has more than 22 years experience of results-driven experience in media relations, crisis management, multicultural communications, strategic employee communications, publication management, and social media. Recognized nationally, regionally, and locally for award-winning publications and writing, Judy helped launch Orange County Public Relations Society of America’s Diversity Initiative and serves on the OC Human Relations’ Board of Directors.

Corin Ramos, APR, is principal of Walson Communications, a multicultural public relations and social media marketing agency based in Anaheim and publisher of The OC Blend, the first and only weekly e-newsletter featuring news and events from Orange County’s multicultural and diverse communities. As a former print and broadcast journalist with ethnic media, Corin also enjoys her role as the Orange County Ethnic Communities columnist for Examiner.com. An active member of numerous diverse and ethnic business and community organizations throughout Orange County, Corin writes and speaks regularly on how to effectively reach out to these communities.
