"I was just a jerk," said John Mayer. On Feb. 7, 2013, the Los Angeles Times reported that the 35-year-old pop rock singer admitted to being a playboy in his past life. Mayer is currently recovering from vocal cord surgery and dating singer Katy Perry. "It's very liberating when you finally realize it's impossible to make everyone like you," said Mayer. "I wanted everybody to like me. I thought I was one shuck and jive away in every direction."
The singer has dated famous females such as Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Minka Kelly and Jessica Simpson. None of those ladies called Mayer out publically except for Swift.
Taylor is known for singing about the men she's dated, such as Joe Jonas and Jake Gyllenhaal. Taylor Lautner fared well in "Back to December," a song that is reportedly about him. However, Mayer did not do so well in "Dear John." The song irritated John so much that he told Rolling Stone, in June 2012, "It made me feel terrible because I didn't deserve it. I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."
Now that Mayer is calling himself a "jerk," does he still stand by his statements to Rolling Stone?
