I want Vanna White's job on Wheel of Fortune / I can't wait!
I am glued to the tube every night at 7:00 p.m. to watch one of my favorite game
shows, Wheel of Fortune. Believe it or not, I am a horrible player. Usually when I solve a puzzle, most of the letters are displayed. The puzzles are not the reason why I watch the show. I truly enjoy seeing the prize puzzle trip designations, but I primarily tune in to see Vanna White. I want her job!
Vanna prances out on the stage wearing beautiful clothes that she doesn't have to purchase. She has stylists, so therefore her hair, makeup, manicures, facials, and pedicures are complimentary; it’s part of the "look cute for the audience" package. Her job duties are easy; it requires minimal thinking and effort. Vanna merely has to push illuminated letter boxes, gracefully walk, effervescently smile, wear beautiful free clothes, tape 30 second infomercials about the giveaway prizes, wave to the audience and say good night at the end of the show. The beauty is that she gets paid millions for these tasks. What a deal! I am not mad at her; I want to be in her shoes. I know that Vanna worked hard to accomplish her celebrity status. I am not minimizing her job on Wheel of Fortune; to capitalize off your assets is a talent! There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. My admiration of Vanna is why I am waiting my turn to stand next to Pat Sajak in her stead.
So every morning that I wake up and don't see my name on Fortune Magazine’s top millionaire list coupled with me not being selected to be Vanna's replacement / substitute, I am relegated to pull out my “lickety stick,” go to work and use my intellectual capital to make a living. I have no choice, but I am determined to figure this thing out. If there is a solution; if I persevere, I will find it! Philosophically, I realize that hard work, preparation, determination and luck will take me far; they are antidotal building blocks for success.
Achieve your dreams......no matter how long it takes is my motto!
Find your dream job, profession, or entrepreneurial stint where your passion lies. As Confucius said, "Choose a job you love and you never work a day in your life."
My vision of my mega bucks is around the corner because as Vince Lombardi said, “success only comes before work in the dictionary.” So every day, I do something to bring me closer to my million dollar spin!
