Last week, an “I quit” viral video showed 25-year-old American writer Marina Shifrin dancing around her Taiwanese office at 4:30 in the morning. Her epic video subtitled the reasons she was leaving her job, as she danced her interpretive boogie to a Kanye West song and uploaded it to YouTube.

Not to be outdone, Shifrin’s former employer, a Taiwanese animation company called Next Media Animation, posted their own video, appropriately entitled, “We’re Hiring,” reports Time on October 2.

In case you missed it, here is Shifrin’s “I Quit” video.

“For almost two years I've sacrificed my relationships, time and energy for this job,” she explains in the video. “And my boss only cares about quantity and how many views each video gets. So I figured I'd make ONE video of my own.”

Shifrin says she was pressured to work without a lunch break because of the enormous workload that was expected of her, and that her unyielding boss was constantly changing her schedule and the duties that she was supposed to perform. She reached out for assistance or support from other management but received none.

Her former company sees it differently, creating their own tongue-in-cheek video response. Her boss also had some choice words for his former employee: “I wish Marina would have applied more creativity to her daily work as she did in the video.”

Mark Simon, Shifrin’s former boss, said he is trying to break the public perception, given by Shifrin, that his company is a less than desirable workplace. He said Shifrin’s salary was $42,000 a year and that she traveled to New York, LA, Hong Kong and Thailand, all on the company dime, in her short nine-month tenure.
