Here a beautiful shawl crocheted in a net stitch with hearts. The pattern works up rather quickly as the netting is a series of chain 5 loops. This model was worked with worsted weight yarn; however, it’s the type of pattern that any yarn and corresponding hook can be used. Gauge has been given for worsted weight yarn. Pattern directions are very detailed and anyone with a knowledge of crocheting can make this shawl.

At this point, my shawl had 5 hearts. It was 20 inches from the neck down and about 50 inches in width.
Work Rows A-E again, as many times as you want length and width of the shawl. My shawl has 7 total repeats for a shawl that has 10 hearts across. Remember to make the very last row, ch-4 instead of ch-5.
Finishing: After the last row of ch-4’s, turn. Sl st in first tr, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each rem 4 tr , *sc in next sc, 3 tr in next ch-4 sp, rep from * across to last sc and 5 tr, sc in last sc, sc in each rem 5 tr.. Fasten off. Weave in yarn tails. Steam or block.
